FREE PARK CORNER: Referendum on the fiscal Treaty-I...
Good evening to everyone! Today, i'm going to purpose you an interview realized during the Festival Internazionale a Ferrara 2012 (5-6-7th of October) with the filmmaker Friedrich Moser, author with Matthieu Lietaert of the movie "The Brussels Business", a documentary with the aim of investigating the role and the power of the lobbies within the European Union institutions in Brussels.
The Lobby industry in Brussels is the second one in the world, right after the US' one and with the help of Friedrich Moser, we have tried to understand the role of these groups of pressure expecially in the contest of a Eurozone in crisis and because, despite the influence of the European dimension on the single features of its citizens' life, the European affairs are kept away from the spotlights.
I had the chance of meeting Brendan Young, press officer for the Campaign Against the Austerity Treaty; you can read a resume of the focus point discussed in such meeting below.
The guests featured in this double interview are Maryam Al-Khawaja, a Bahraini human rights' activist, deputy president of the Bahrein Center for Human Rights and the Gulf Center for Human Rights and Sultan Al Qassemi , among the most authoritative voices on Twitter concerning Middle East Affairs.
Sultan Al Qassemi writes on The Gulf News, The National Newspaper, The Financial Times and The Guardian among the others, and is also a member of the Dubai School of Government.
Maryam Al-Khawaja has spread, trough Twitter, the protests in Bahrein of the last year and we ask her to explain us what happened to that movement and to give a broader look on the current conditions of the countries involved in the Arab Spring the last year.
